On 22 April 2018, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani laid foundation stones for a 20 MLD Common Effluent Treatment Plant (with master balancing reservoir and 14 internal effluent pumping stations) and the Pipli–Dholera water pipeline: a 13.5 km line from the Pipli pumping station to a 50 MLD water treatment plant at Kadipur village, plus 9.5 km connecting the plant to Dholera.
Why it matters to Dholera: water in and effluent out are the two flows every water-sensitive industry watches. These foundation stones marked the moment the trunk-utility plan (sanctioned by CCEA in 2015) turned into physical assets on the ground.
What came next: completion reviews through 2025, and the 200 MLD desalination DPR in 2026 taking water security further.
