The count
Dholera SIR was formed from 22 villages of Dholera taluka, Ahmedabad district - a taluka carved from the former Dhandhuka taluka when the region was notified under the SIR Act. The count of 22 is well established in official records.
Why we do not print a named list
A single named list of the 22 villages circulates on broker and reference sites - but the versions conflict, and at least one common version includes places (such as Sargasan and Surajbari) that lie in other districts. Printing an unverified list as fact is exactly what this site does not do. Confirming the names requires a gazette notification or TP-scheme records; when those are verified, this page will carry them.
What the SIR means for village land
The villages' farmland is being urbanised through the town-planning scheme mechanism: the authority pools land in a scheme area, lays out roads and services, and returns to each owner a smaller but serviced plot. It is land reconstitution, not outright acquisition - the mechanism explained in Chapter 9.
Village life inside an SIR
The buildout is phased: the Activation Area first, later schemes following over years. The villages remain inhabited communities while that proceeds, and the balance between rural life and urban build-out is one of the stories ground reality tracks.
